Social Media Marketing Plan: Leveraging Your Digital Assets

What do you with your digital assets? Maybe you’ve only got a blog, but even with that excellent asset, perhaps you dont publicise your blogs, or use tools like or to notify and “ping” other search engines blog directories, social networks or social bookmarking sites?

I know a company that spent £23K on a website, and are still not happy with their ROI, still not happy with the level sales they’re generating and still not happy with the level of qualified signups they’re generating either.

It may look stunning but no-one knows it exists. Maybe as part of your cloud marketing strategy instead of limiting yourself by doing everything on your own website, Business you perhaps leverage other resources out there in the cloud to help create sales opportunities for yourself.

Think about the digitial assets you may already have but not be leveraging…

* White papers
* Presentations
* Articles
* Checklists
* Powerpoints
* Pdfs
* Spreadsheet tools

Now you can choose to be either over protective and not let anyone see them or …you can leverage them wisely by uploading them and publish into the demand by targetting high volume websites and placing your digital assets in key locations and making them easily findable by choosing keyword loaded titles, descriptions, categories and tags. Leverage the millions and billions of dollars thats been invested in other people’s online infrastuctures and website to help qualify and pull clients to you.

Don’t think that you have to spend £s in SEO and have a huge marketing budget to drive traffic to your site. You don’t.

In fact for many people they don’t even transact on their own site.

They leverage other tools and resources in the “cloud” on the net.
-Some use article directories
-Others use expert sites
-Some use document sharing sites
-Others use software download and shareware sites
-Some people even use app review sites to help promote their mobile app

Then once you’ve uploaded some of your digital assets to these other online resources and combine some of the tools I mentioned at the start of the blog then consider the effect the same as compound interest.

So, it’s time to blow off the cob webs from some of your digital assets that can help demonstrate your knowledge, wisdom and experience, and start getting them into the hands of prospective customers who are already out there in the cloud – searching for them.

It’s time to start developing your marketing message so that it’s cloud and clear… It’s time to start leveraging other people’s assets as well as your own digital assets.
